Woodworking Pressure Treated Wood

woodworking pressure treated wood

Pressure treated wood for bed repair replaced wooden boards that support the mattress on my bed because they were weak and cracking. i didn’t even realize, but the 1x4’s i bought are pressure treated with micronized copper azole.. So, on pressure treated wood the divots are the work of the machine they use to inject the pressure treatment into the wood. yours appear to be from a milling machine fo some sort but then the wood was surfaced by hand with an adz or similar tool. it does not seem to be pressure treated.. When your treated lumber woodworking plans call for a deck hanger or other type of lumber bracket, beware of aluminum hangers. these are extremely prone to corrosion and should be avoided for use with acq stock. instead, look for g-185 rated brackets, and consider adding a protective barrier between the bracket and the lumber..
