Honestly unless it’s a very large band saw, it’s just not worth it. they run 5-10 times too fast, the blades are too narrow, and most don’t have the right style of blade guides. as such, it’s also quite difficult to find metal cutting blades to fit a saw made for wood.. The trickiest part of making a knife is the blade. if you have a forge handy, and can get your hands on some good tool steel, that’s great. if you don’t, you can still make a knife using an old appalachian trick: recycling. that’s what we’ll do in this project. old saw blades are almost always made from high quality steel..
